P. Austin Nye, Vice President

Austin Nye was born and raised on the coast in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he grew up fishing, surfing, and hunting.  Mr. Nye was exposed to the oilfield at a very young age as he tagged along with his father, Patrick, logging wells in the mid to late 1980′s.  After graduating from Heritage HS in Littleton, Colorado, he began a brief college career at local colleges in Corpus Christi and Austin, Texas in the early 2000′s.  In November 2002 he was asked to work for his Grandfather and Uncle’s exploration and production company in Dallas, Texas.  He worked in numerous positions before being named VP of Operations, and gained experience in drilling operations, land and legal services, coordinating with regulatory agencies and conducting field operations in several states, including Kansas, Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming.  Deciding to follow in his father’s footsteps, he returned home to Corpus Christi in 2006 to continue his collegiate career, pursuing a degree in Geology.  During that time, he worked as an in house landman and geotech for local exploration and operating companies.  He ultimately obtained his Geology degree, graduating Texas A&M Kingsville in August 2012.  He has been working as an exploration geologist and in house land manager for Nye Exploration & Production, LLC since September 2012. Mr. Nye is currently the President of the Corpus Christi Geological Society.
